ADVA Optical Networking SE

ADVA (www.adva.com) is a global manufacturer of telecommunications equipment serving the transport, access and enterprise market sectors. With more than 1800 employees and annual revenues above €500 Million, we have over 20 years of experience and innovation. ADVA’s headquarters are based in Munich, Germany. The main technology differentiators for ADVA are multi-Tb/s open line systems for cloud interconnects, network synchronization, virtualized cloud services, and network encryption for operators and enterprise customers.

Securing high-performance connectivity solutions are essential to safeguard traffic on any connectivity network layer, ensuring confidentiality and integrity as well as the highest transmission performance. The joint work in QuaSiModO is an important foundation for ADVAs product strategy to quantum-safe its security portfolio.

Fraunhofer AISEC

Fraunhofer AISEC supports firms from all industries and service sectors in securing their systems, infrastructures, products and offerings. On behalf of our clients, we develop qualitatively high-value security technologies which increase the reliability, trustworthiness and tamper-resistance of IT-based systems and products. The approximately 90 members of the Fraunhofer AISEC scientific and technical staff balance economic needs, user-friendliness, and security requirements to develop optimally tailored concepts and solutions. Our security test labs are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and our highly-qualified security experts evaluate and analyze the security of products and hardware components as well as software products and applications for our customers. In our laboratories, we test functionality, interoperability and compliance and give our clients targetted, effective advice. Our clients are producers, distributors and users in the areas of (among others) chip-card systems, telecommunications, automotive production and distribution, logistics and aerospace, mechanical engineering and automation technologies, healthcare, and the software industry, as well as the public sector like eGovernment. Strategic partnerships with global industrial companies as well as with international universities (in particular, the Technical University of Munich – a federally-designated »University of Excellence«) guarantee the scientific excellence of our work as well as its market-driven implementation.

genua GmbH

genua is a German IT security specialist. Since our company was founded in 1992, we have been involved in securing networks and developing sophisticated solutions. Our business activities include firewalls certified to the international Common Criteria (CC) standard, high-security gateways and diodes for sensitive network interfaces, VPN and remote maintenance systems, mobile security solutions, and a wide range of services. Our solutions are developed and manufactured in Germany. Many companies and public authorities rely on solutions from genua to protect their IT.

In order to find good solutions, it often makes sense to combine differing skills, viewpoints and resources and for this reason genua participates in research projects. Here we work together with universities, research institutions and other organizations, in order to solve fundamental problems in IT security. We exchange know-how with others taking part and discuss the results obtained, with all parties profiting from the knowledge we gain. The sponsored projects therefore make a valuable contribution to knowledge transfer as well as strengthening the role of Germany as an economic and research center. Further information about the projects we participate in can be found on our website.

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU)

The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich is recognized as one of Europe's premier academic and research institutions. Since its founding in 1472, LMU has attracted inspired scholars and talented students from all over the world, keeping the University at the nexus of ideas that challenge and change our complex world.

In QuaSiModO, the LMU is represented by the the chair for Communication Systems and Systems Programming under the direction of Prof. Dr. Dieter Kranzlmüller. It is part of the Munich Network Management Team (MNM-Team), an inter-organisational team consisting of researchers at LMU, the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) and the University of German Federal Armed Forces (UniBWM). The fundamental issues driving the research effort of the MNM-Team revolve around systems of networked, distributed, and parallel computers. IT-security in general and post-quantum security in particular play an important role in the team's teaching and research efforts.
